The art fair CI Bloom, organized by Contemporary Istanbul, which brings spring to Istanbul returns this year with its third edition between 25-28 April 2024. The fair brings 24 contemporary art galleries, along with 5 institutions and initiatives, will showcase 568 artworks by 267 artists.

 

At the partner of CI Bloom, LG OLED once again teamed up with contemporary street artist Shepard Fairey. Featuring state-of-the-art LG OLED screens, the exhibition included a selection of Shepard Fairey’s instantly-recognizable work; hand-picked by the artist himself and drawing attention to some of the most pressing issues facing society today.

 

Shepard Fairey is a well-known contemporary street artist and activist, known for the creation of the OBEY GIANT art campaign and for his 2008 portrait of then-Democratic candidate Barack Obama which became an internationally recognized emblem of hope. Throughout his career Fairey's work has reflected global challenges that plague society; environmental sustainability, diplomacy, and gender equality to name a few. Fairey has explored the balance between cultural enrichment and its environmental toll; he has advocated for peaceful solutions over violence and has addressed gender biases. Fairey has created over 135 public murals which has impacted the way we converse about art and how we view the urban landscape.

 

For CI Bloom, LG OLED also collaborated with Turkish new media art cooperative DECOL for “Living Things” exhibition by new media artist Ahmet Said Kaplan. This exhibition centers around the intersection of art and technology, offering an inclusive and interactive experience that redefines the concept of being a living form. In the entrance of the exhibition, the visitors experience the artist’s initial work with LG OLED screens, “Mirora : Divided” which is a living installation that artistically transforms the subtle dynamics of the natural environment into a digital narrative. Using sensitive sensors, it captures delicate environmental movements—the play of light and shadows, the rustle of leaves, and the whispers of the wind. These often overlooked elements are reimagined into a continuously evolving visual symphony. With LG OLED’s captivating picture quality, these unique pieces blend art and technology, transforming every moment of interaction into something truly special.
